About the new Government funding
For the first time, residential buildings under 11 metres may qualify for government funding to remove unsafe cladding through the Cladding Safety Scheme.
The funding has been introduced following the Government’s continued commitment to improving building safety after the Grenfell Tower tragedy and focuses on buildings where external wall systems present a serious risk to life.
Applications open on 17 August 2026, and remain open for eight weeks. Funding is prioritised according to fire risk, rather than on a first-come, first-served basis.
Not every building under 11 metres will qualify. The scheme is intended for residential buildings that:
- Are under 11 metres tall
- Contain two or more dwellings
- Have unsafe external wall systems identified through a PAS 9980 Fire Risk Appraisal of External Walls (FRAEW)
The application should usually be submitted by a building’s ‘responsible entity’.
If residents are concerned about their building, and can’t get in touch with the responsible entity, they can use the Cladding Scheme’s ‘Tell Us Tool’.
Eligibility is assessed by Homes England as part of the Cladding Safety Scheme process.
Once funding is approved, responsible entities will need to appoint experienced contractors capable of delivering compliant cladding remediation works.

Technical delivery for consultants and project managers
We provide technically-robust delivery partnership for consultants, fire engineers and project managers. Working from PAS 9980 assessments and FRAEW findings, we develop detailed construction methodologies and scopes of work aligned with the consultant’s specification and approved remediation strategy.
Our teams are experienced in delivering both façade and internal fire remediation packages, coordinating multiple workstreams while maintaining programme, quality and compliance. Through early contractor engagement, collaborative planning and transparent communication, we work closely with the wider project team to identify buildability considerations, manage project risks and deliver remediation works safely and efficiently.
